The TESCO 22 BBS is a self-contained, traffic signal battery backup system designed to provide hours of uninterrupted power through weather outages and other disturbances, providing safety for drivers and law enforcement officials under hazardous conditions. It has become the standard for hundreds of agencies and departments of transportation throughout the United States and Canada.
22-000BBS cabinets, with robust all-welded construction and stainless steel hardware, are built to NEMA and UL 508A standards, and wired to conform to NEC and UL standards. The system is appropriate for retrofit projects or new installations; and can be side-mounted to an existing controller cabinet, or installed free-standing on a concrete base.
Due to varying municipal and DOT standards, Tesco Controls Inc. manufactures BBS systems to meet specific client requirements, including design and architectural aesthetics.
