Tesco Controls Inc., North America’s leading water and wastewater systems integrator, is proud to announce and welcome David Kubel, P.E. as the company’s Director of Engineering.

Dave joins the Tesco team with 25 years in the management, design and implementation of instrumentation and controls, SCADA, system integration, and security projects in the water and wastewater industry. He has been the lead engineer and project manager on over $120M of engineering and technology projects.

Dave comes from Black & Veatch, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company specializing in the energy, water, telecommunications, and federal markets. During his tenure at Black & Veatch, Dave was the Instrumentation and Controls Chief Engineer in their Water Division, covering North America. In this role, Dave was responsible for the technical quality on projects delivered by the national group of engineers and programmers. He led several large control system projects and represented the Water Division on the SCADA Security working group across all Black and Veatch Divisions.

Prior to Black & Veatch, Dave held several positions at Westin Engineering, Inc., a national engineering and technology consulting firm serving water, wastewater and electric utilities. Dave served as the National Engineering Technical Practice Lead where he was actively involved in the direction of the engineering practice. The practice included SCADA and process controls engineering, telecommunications, instrumentation, electrical engineering and security services. He led the business and technical development of their IT and SCADA security practice, and was the Project Manager for the development of the WaterISAC (www.waterisac.org), a federally-funded, high-security web-based service to disseminate and share security threat information to the water industry.

Dave was with Tesco Controls, Inc. from 1990 to 1994, which included a management position where he was responsible for all project and customer-related issues following project shipments. This included system start-ups, and customer problem resolution.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Tesco team again. With Tesco’s long commitment to excellence and strong technical depth, I look forward to our team delivering industry leading solutions for our customers.”

Dave was Co-Author of the AWWARF published book, “Costs and Benefits of Complete Water Treatment Plant Automation”; and “The Business Case for Automation” chapter for “Automation of Wastewater Treatment Facilities – Manual of Practice 21”, Fourth Edition (to be published in 2013).
